BSP rejects Justice Gandhi Comm report on Kishtwar violence

JAMMU, Dec 22: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has termed ‘clean chit’ to the Minister of State for Home and Industries Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo as cruel joke with the people who suffered massive loss during communal violence in Kishtwar and demanded a fresh inquiry into the whole episode by a 5-member commission headed by a sitting Supreme Court Judge or the Chief Justice of the High Court.
Addressing a press conference here today, party national general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP (Incharge J&K State) of BSP, Narender Kashyap said that BSP has strongly objected to the outcome of the one- man Inquiry Commission report led by Justice Gandhi. Everybody knows about the incident and the happenings there in presence of Minister of State for Home in Kishtwar town on that fateful day. Despite this all giving clean chit to the Home Minister is highly unjustified.
It has created doubt in the minds of people of this State and the credibility of the so called one man Commission. While dismissing the Justice Gandhi Commission report, the BSP MP demanded another Inquiry Commission comprising of at least five members from different communities and headed by a sitting Supreme Court judge or Chief Justice of a High Court. He wondered how, a clean chit can be given to a Home Minister in whose presence in the town a free for all situation was created and large scale violence took place resulting into innocent deaths as well. Justice Gandhi is answerable to the public and not only to the J&K Government.
Mr Kashyap also declared two party candidates for Reasi and R S Pura Assembly seats. He disclosed that Thakur Karan Singh shall contest from Reasi while Ajaib Singh Mottan from R S Pura Assembly constituency. He further declared that nearly 1500 BSP worker from J&K would join Savdhan rally being organised at Lucknow on January 15 in connection with the birthday celebrations of  BSP national president and former UP Chief Minister Kumari Mayawati.
