The CGM BSNL J&K press conference on 21 Aug 2016 is essentially an exercise in self-aggrandisement, which is high on rhetoric and low on delivery. Any body using a BSNL connection, mobile or Land Line, will attest to the poor quality service being dished out by this under performing department.
The self acclaimed and self over rated service provider has every reason to pat its back for adding new mobile and land line connections, due to the virtual monopoly it enjoys and lack of competition in the field. It is very easy to win a race where only single contestant participates.
The common man, the end user, would have appreciated the future plans of the department , had the BSNL spelt out as to how they propose to make service efficient in terms of, amongst others, affording more speed which now hardly crosses single digits of kbps, to the existing internet users, addressing the poor record of complaint attendance/rectification, unnecessarily floating and realising inflated bills when the services not provided or when can not be provided, for what so ever reason.
It is hoped that the top brass of the BSNL will have their ears on the ground and hands on the peoples pulse, as to what they feel about BSNL, majority of whom are the silent sufferers for the poor services provided by the largest, but certainly not the efficient, network in the country.
