BSNL office closed after some employees test positive for COVID-19

SRINAGAR: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) office in Srinagar was on Monday closed after some employees reportedly test positive for COVID-19.
This is the second time the BSNL main office, at Exchange road, a stones throw away from UNI Bureau, was closed after employees test positive.
Security guards posted at the main gate of the office were informing customers that the office has been closed today. ”We have been directed not to allow anybody to enter the office, they said, adding ”We do not know why office has been closed.
However, a private agent of the BSNL was seen issuing SIM cards to people at distance from the BSNL office. He said the BSNL has been closed after some employees tested positive.
Large number of customers, who had come to deposit mobile and landline besides Broadband bills had to return to their homes disappointed.
The private agent was charging Rs 300 per BSNL SIM besides Rs 10 extra for depositing fees of customers. (AGENCIES).
