JAMMU, Feb 12: A Sector Commander level meeting was held between Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers on International Border in Suchetgarh sector today.
The BSF delegation comprising 16 officers was led by P S Dhiman, DIG BSF Jammu sector while Brig Amjad Mehmud, Sector Commander Chenab Rangers, Sialkote Punjab, Pakistan led the Pakistan delegation comprising 14 officers.
It was the first Sector Commander level meeting between two border guarding forces after tension prevailed on Jammu International Border last month in which an Assistant Commandant of the BSF was martyred.
During meeting, Commanders of both the border guarding forces discussed various issues including firing on International Border, presence of suspects in border areas and other routine issues related to border management.
It was decided to re-energize instant communication between Field Commanders, whenever required, to resolve the petty matters. Meeting was held in cordial, positive and constructive atmosphere and both sides agreed for expeditious implementation of the decisions taken in the earlier meeting and committed to each other to maintain peace and tranquility at International Border.
