BSF organises blood donation camp

JAMMU, Feb 28: A blood donation camp was organized at BSF Hospital Frontier HQ BSF Jammu, in collaboration with Department of Blood Bank team of Government Medical College Jammu and Red Cross Society under the directions of D K Boora, Inspector General Frontier HQ BSF Jammu.
This Blood donation camp was inaugurated by S K Singh, DIG/PSO Frontier Jammu and coordinated by Dr K S Kumar, DIG (Medical) BSF Jammu.
On this occasion, S K Singh, emphasized that blood donation is most noble cause and significant contribution that a person can make towards the society. This act can save a precious human life in need.
He further said that apart from safeguarding the borders of nation, BSF is always found to be at the forefront of serving the society. One such act of humanity is their regular willingness to donate blood and save lives. He also expressed his gratitude to the doctors/staff and troops present on the occasion.
During the blood donation camp, Dr Taruna Sharma, Second in Command/CMO, BSF, Dr Lokeshwar Khajuria, DC/ SMO BSF, Dr Sahil, PG 2nd year and Ashwani along with their team were present. A total of 100 BSF personnel donated blood.
