JAMMU, Aug 12: The 78th Battalion BSF in connection with Golden jubilee celebrations observed the day as plantation day at Indereshwar Nagar, Miran Sahib near here today
In this connection 1,200 saplings were planted. Among them 710 are fruit yielding trees, 330 are shade giving trees while 160 are decoration trees. Out of them, 440 trees have been planted on border posts and 760 on Battalion headquarters.
B S Kasana, DIG BSF Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. Besides the Horticulture senior officer G S Kapoor and Gagan Deep Kour, Battalion Commander Vivek Shrivastav and 32 jawans planted the saplings in a record time frame.
