KATHUA, Nov 11: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed, when the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a speedy tipper near Mangloor area, falling under the jurisdiction of Hiranagar police station.
As per police sources, a BSF jawan identified as Ranjit Singh, son of Balbir Singh, a resident of Mangloor, tehsil Hiranagar was on its way to his home on his motorcycle bearing registration number JK08B-5560, when a rashly driven tipper bearing registration number JK14D-0114 hit his motorcycle near Mangloor.
The profusely bleeding BSF jawan was rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Hiranagar, where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The body has been shifted to mortuary of SDH Hiranagar and after conducting autopsy tomorrow, the body will be handed over to family members for last rites.
The driver of the tipper identified as Joginder Kumar of Majalta, district Udhampur has been arrested and the vehicle has been seized.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Hiranagar police station and investigation started.
