JAMMU, June 28: Frontier HQ BSF Jammu today organized a blood donation camp in collaboration with the Department of Blood Transfusion, Govt Medical College Jammu and with the participation of Red Cross Society, Jammu.
During the camp, total 82 BSF personnel, including Officers, SOs and others donated blood to save the precious lives of the patients.
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by N S Jamwal, IG, Ftr HQ BSF Jammu. Dr Karnail Singh, Commandant Medical Frontier HQ BSF Jammu organized and coordinated the camp by arranging the teams of GMC Jammu and Red Cross Society Jammu Province.
N S Jamwal, Inspector General BSF, spoke on the occasion and said that blood donation is one of the most significant contributions that a person can make towards the society. “It is not harmful for an adult person to donate blood. The body of donor can recoup the blood within few days, he added.
