JAMMU, Dec 4: The Border Security Force (BSF) today defused a HP-36 hand grenade, which was found lying near Panchayat Ghar at border village of Bain in Ramgarh sector of Samba district.
Reports said a villager Govind Ram Sharma son of Ganga Ram Sharma, a resident of village Bain, which was located right on the International Border (IB), detected a grenade lying near the Panchayat Ghar. He sounded the nearby BSF unit.
A team of BSF 126 battalion rushed to the spot and took the grenade in their custody. It was shifted to a safer location and defused this afternoon.
Reports said the HP-36 grenade was old and rusted.
