Bryan Singer to direct ‘20,000 Leagues Under The Sea’ remake

LOS ANGELES, Sept 19:  Filmmaker Bryan Singer has revealed the remake of 1954 film “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea,” will be his next project.
The 50-year-old “X-Men: Apocalypse” helmer took to Instagram to announce the movie, saying it is an “adventure very dear to my heart.”
It’s my 50th birthday (ouch), and I just put the finishing touches on the script for my next film. A story I’ve wanted to retell since childhood.
I promise this will be an epic and emotional adventure for all ages! An adventure very dear to my heart.  Not abandoning the #xmen universe. Very excited about #xmenapocalypse and beyond,” his post read.
The original film was an adaptation of Jules Verne’s 19th century novel “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea”.
The new movie will see Singer reunite with Studney, who penned the screenplay for his “Jack the Giant Slayer”. (PTI)
