JAMMU, Apr 19: Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ) has appealed the Governor’s administration to bring “book shops” under essential items list.
“As we know that at present the whole world is under the threat of COVID- 19. But at the same time, this time is also crucial for the students as this is beginning of the academic session and the books are essential for students of all levels in the session 2020-21 Summer Zone,” Kuldeep Kumar Rao, an active member of MPEJ said.
He said that all the students are not in position to take benefit from the online resources due to poor connectivity and the financial crunches, so J&K Government should bring the ‘books shops’ under essential commodity and open the books shops for short hours so that students can purchase the books for their study.
Rao further appealed the Lt Governor of J&K to immediately restore the 4G internet services in UT. He said recently Government of India has launched various new digital classes like Google classes but students are not able to operate these with weak 2G internet services.
