Indian society has always rejected violence: Vyas

JAMMU, Nov 4: BJP senior leader and party spokesperson, Brig (retd) Anil Gupta and senior K P leader and Editor in Chief Voice of Silence, Prof G K Muju were conferred this year’s Pt Prem Nath Bhat Amateur Journalist Award at a simple but impressive function held at K P Sabha here this afternoon.
The function was organized by Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust and Advisor to Governor, B B Vyas was the chief guest on the occasion while the programme was chaired by D C Raina, Advocate General.
Two young advocates Sonakhski Bhat and Nishu Kanth sung Vande Matram in a mellifluous voice on the occasion.
The Awards Committee Panel had selected the two awardees for their consistent contribution to the cause of good and positive journalism in the State.
The awardees were presented a shawl and a memento and also the Citation that was read on the occasion. The citation of Brig.(Retd.)Anil Gupta was read by the noted social activist and secretary of the Trust Sundri Lal Koul and the citation of Prof. G.K.Muju was read by A.K.Raina Director (retd) School Education.
In his address Advisor to Governor B.B. Vyas lauded the role of Pt.Prem Nath Bhat as a social reformer who was always just and magnanimous for everyone in the society. He also eulogized PNBMT for its role, activities and for the institution of Amateur Journalist Awards.
Maintaining that peace and non-violence is age old corner stone of Indian philosophy, Vyas said that Indian society has always rejected violence and bloodshed.
D.C.Raina Advocate General while speaking on the occasion through wonderful anecdotes stressed upon the need to one’s Karma despite difficulties. He also stressed upon the need to keep on striving to achieving excellence in life.
Pradeep Khodbali read a paper on the life and contributions of Pt.Prem Nath Bhat and highlighted the role played by him in creating awareness about the lurking dangers in Kashmir amongst the KP community.
Virender Raina welcomed the guests and also conducted the proceedings of the programme. He also raised some key concerns of the KP community including the Temples and Shrines Bill.
Noted scholar K.N.Pandita also spoke in the occasion and highlighted the Temples and Shrines Bill.
Chairman of the Trust Shiban Khaibri presented the vote of thanks.
