JAMMU, Apr 25: In view of the Pahalgam terror attack, Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha has cancelled the Bhagwan Parshuram Mahotsav Shobha Yatra, which was scheduled to take place on 27th of April 2025.
This was informed by Ved Parkash Sharma, President of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, while talking to media persons during a hurriedly called press conference, here today.
Instead of Shobha Yatra, a Shradhanjali programme on the same day will be organized for paying homage to the victims of terror attack.
“However, Bhagwan Parshuram Mahotsav, Hawan and Chanting of Hanuman Chalisa on April 29 will be held as per the already announced programme, while will be followed by Yagyopavit Ceremony at Brahman Sabha Jammu on April 30, at 8AM onward,” he added.
While expressing concern and grief over the recent violence incident at Pahalgam area in which several nationalists lost their live falling prey to the bullet of terrorists, Brahman Sabha president urged upon the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to continue the governance of Union Territory directly under Central control till the increasing trend of terrorism is arrested , dispelling the grant of statehood as is demanded by the some entities.
“During the past about six months, the terrorist incidents have alarmingly increased here causing the wave of fear and uncertainty amongst the masses and hence statehood must not be granted at this time,” he said.
Chairman of the DBPS Advocate P C Sharma also appealed the Prime Minister to take the control of situation personally to dismantle infrastructure of terrorist industries in POK.
