Jammu: State Cabinet which met today under the chairmanship of chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed accorded sanction to the appointed of the senior bureaucrat BR Sharma as new chief secretary.
Sources said that Sharma’s name was unanimously accorded sanction by the cabinet for the post of chief secretary.
Sharma, who is 1984 batch IAS officer of J&K cadre, was holding a position of Principal Secretary Planning and Development Department till now.
He replaced Iqbal Khanday who quitted office three months before his due date of superannuation on differences with the Mufti government.
