JAMMU, May 7: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited today launched door to door delivery (DDD) of fuel in Jammu under its brand name “FuelKart”.
With this initiative, BPCL has become the first Oil Marketing Company (OMC) in J&K to bring this novel concept of door to door delivery of HSD (High Speed Diesel) to the consumers’ doorsteps. This is done in line with Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas’s recently relaxed guidelines to market HSD through the technology enabled Tank Trucks fitted with Electronic dispenser, similar to the one at Fuel Stations.
This electronic dispenser is duly calibrated by the Legal Metrology Department apart from the calibration of the tank truck on which it is fitted. The filling facility of the tank truck is a smaller version of the facility at oil depots having state of the art flow metering mechanism having certification of the Department of Explosives. This is considered as a step towards bringing fuel sales on the e-commerce platform using smart mode of technology where end to end electronic locking is ensured.
The facility and the moving fuel dispensing bowser was launched today by Simranjeet Singh, Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) at BPCL Retail Outlet M/s Kailash Filling Station, Raya Morh on NH-44. He advised the company that this facility should reach to maximum people to ensure lesser movement of people especially during lockdown. Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba Ashish Gupta was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Sharma, BPCL’s Territory Manager for J&K and Ladakh stated that this facility will bring in a new revolution in the door delivery of fuel to the industrial and institutional customers. He also stated that this concept has already been approved by the Ministry as a start up by the name of FuelEnts (Fuel Entrepreneurs), which shall be open to people other than Petroleum dealers also and will be registered by OMCs as DDD resellers under a triparty agreement mechanism.
Before this, a live demonstration was done by Company’s area Sales Manager Dushyant Sharma along with dealer of the Retail outlet at Bari Brahmana Industrial Association office in the presence of its president Lalit Mahajan and other office bearers.
