BPCL launches FINO Banking services in retail outlets in J&K, Ladakh

JAMMU, Mar 17: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), in yet another first of its kind initiative, took lead in making the Government’s dream of Digital India true by launching the FINO Banking Correspondence services to cover the maximum retail outlets in J&K and Ladakh.
The launching was graced by the Advisor to Lt Governor Farooq Khan and Secretary to Government, Pandurang Kondbarao Pole, in the presence of BPCL’s Territory Manager Rajesh Sharma. Final connectivity of FINO Banking shall start from April onwards at the newly enrolled retail Outlets which will provide the services like Savings Bank with zero balance account, ATM, Insurance, Pension disbursement, Bill Payments at one point only without going to ATMs/other counters separately.
Apart from the FINO payment banking services, BPCL and SBI’s credit card namely BPCL SBI card which is already a customer’s choice in rest of India was formally launched in J&K, which otherwise was not rolled here due to non-availability of internet. In this credit card, customers can avail a direct cash back of 3.25% through points over and above 1% surcharge waiver, levied on other credit cards, thus giving a benefit of 4.25% cash back to the customers using this card.
In other words, customers can get cash-back points worth Rs. 32.50 on spend of Rs. 1000 worth of petrol or diesel at BPCL retail outlets subject to a ceiling of Rs 10,000 per day purchase of fuel. Same benefit of 3.25% cash back shall also be applicable to the consumers of Bharat Gas, who can also avail the accelerated points on using the card at groceries, departmental stores, movies and restaurants etc.
Speaking on the launch, Farooq Khan lauded BPCL’s efforts to promote the vision of the Union Government towards Digital India. He asked the officials to make it rather a digital movement across the Union Territory of J&K. Secretary Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Pandurang Kondbarao Pole also spoke on the occasion.
Rajesh Sharma, BPCL’s Territory Manager (Retail) for J&K and Ladakh stated that in the next financial year, an aggressive but self-motivating drive shall be held across J&K to get the FINO banking and digital card services to the door steps of even rural & remote parts apart from city and highway markets of BPCL.
