Bovines smuggling den busted; 36 milch animals rescued, 5 arrested

RAMBAN, July 26: Batote police busted a bovines smuggling den with the arrest of five persons and by rescuing 36 milch animals from their possession, which they were trying to smuggle to Valley in a vehicle.
As per police sources, on reliable information, police team from Batote police station conducted raid at Sandokhu Morh, Patnitop and busted a bovines smuggling den by rescuing 36 milch animals including four from a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02AN-0766.
Five persons were arrested on the spot and the vehicle used in smuggling the bovine from the den to Valley was also seized.
The accused has been identified as driver Fayad Ali, son of Mazoor Ahmed of Chanderkot, Makhan Hussain, son of Gujjar Din of Sarar, Chenani, Javed Iqbal, son of Nissar Ahmed of Marmat, Modh Saidq, son of Aazam Din of Sarar, Chenani and Raj Ali, son of Sher Ali of Sudhmahadev.
The modus operandi of the smugglers is that they bring the bovines from various parts of the State to Sandokhu Morh, Patnitop and further smuggle the bovines to Valley by various means. With the busting of the bovines smuggling den, Batote police achieved a major success of curbing smuggling of bovines to Valley.
A case under FIR No. 78/15 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at police station Batote and investigation started.
The whole operation was carried out by SHO Batote police station Inspector Arun Kotwal under the supervision of Mohammad Rafiq Choudhary, DySP Headquarters and Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban.
