JAMMU, Dec 29: Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 67 cattle and arresting 5 smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, teams from Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli Police Stations laid nakas in their respective jurisdictions and seized four vehicles carrying 67 bovine animals and arrested five smugglers.
The arrested persons were identified as Sayar Bhat of District Anantnag, Mudasar Ahmed of District Anantnag, Nazir of Uttar Pradesh, Hameed Poswal of District Anantnag and Javed of Narwal District Jammu.
Four cases under relevant sections have been registered at Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli Police Stations and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma.
