JAMMU, Apr 26: Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 59 cattle and arresting seven persons.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted five Kashmir bound vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 59 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested persons.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohd Iqbal of Tanda Jagti District Jammu, Mushtaq Ahmed of District Ramban, Kamran Ahmed of District Poonch, Khurshed Ahmed of Upper Roop Nagar District Jammu, Shokat Ali of Jhajjar Kotli District Jammu, Nissar Ahmed of District Kulgam and Ajaz Ahmed of District Kulgam.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation initiated.
