Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 29 cattle rescued, 2 arrested

JAMMU, July 12: Nagrota and Tikri Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 29 cattle and arresting 2 smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a trick bearing registration number JK02AT-5725.
During checking, police team rescued 15 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it, while the smugglers managed to escape by taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under FIR Number 274/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma.
Meanwhile, a team from Tikri Police Post during checking intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK03E-4430.
During search, police team rescued 14 bovine animals from the truck and arrested two smugglers, who were identified as Altaf Hussain, son of Gulam Mohi-ud-Din of Shopian and Muneeb Ahmed Parrey, son of Abdul Hamid of District Anantnag.
