Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 18 cattle rescued, 4 arrested

JAMMU, Apr 17: Kanachack and Chatroo Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 18 cattle and arrested four smugglers.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Kanachack led by SHO Inspector Vishav Partap Singh under the supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma and SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul laid a naka at Bathera and intercepted a bolero vehicles bearing registration number JK02BC-4234.
During checking, police team rescued 7 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it, while the smugglers managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness.
A case under FIR Number 53/2021 under Sections 188 IPC and 11 PCA ACT has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Chatroo led by SHO Inspector Sandeep Parihar under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kishtwar Devinder Singh Bandral intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK17A-0318 and JK02BV-1036.
During checking, police team rescued 11 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested four persons, who were identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed Malik of Malikpura Zaingam Tehsil Kokernag, Fayaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed Kumar of Kralpora Cheeki Tehsil Kokernag, Mohammad Aslam, son of Bashir Ahmed Bumal of Halnar Chatroo and Mohammad Aslam, son of Bashir Ahmed of Dellar Chatroo were arrested on spot.
A case under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation initiated.
