Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 18 cattle rescued, 2 arrested

JAMMU, Mar 19: Nagrota police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 18 cattle and arresting two smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02BD-9799 and HP38F-5156.
During checking, police team rescued 18 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested two persons, who were identified as Mohammad Hanif, son of Mushtaq Ahmed of District Doda and Ghulam Mohammad, son of Abdul Rehman of District Ramban.
Cases under FIR Numbers 130/2020 and 131/2020 under relevant Sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and SP Rural Suram Singh.
