JAMMU, Aug 17: Bishnah and Pouni Chak police under ‘Operation Kamdhenu’ foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 30 cattle and arresting one person.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bishnah Police Station laid a naka at Palli Morh and intercepted a truck.
During checking, police rescued 17 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested one person, who has been identified as Harbans Singh, son of Naman Singh, a resident of Chak Mohammad Yaar, Tehsil RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 160/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Rajesh Sharma and assisted by SI Ankuj foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Sourabh Prashar, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
Meanwhile, a team from Pouni Chak Police Post led by SI Sumit Magotra under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Rajeshwar Singh, SDPO Domana Sandeep Gupta and SP Rural Dushyant Sharma laid a naka and rescued 13 cattle from a truck. The bovines smuggler managed to escape from the spot.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Domana Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
