JAMMU, Sept 14: Belicharana Police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 15 cattle and arresting two persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Belicharana Police Post led by SI Ranjeet Singh Chib laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JKO2AT 5411.
During checking, police team rescued 15 bovine animals from the truck and arrested two persons, who were identified as Harminder Singh, son of Ujagar Singh of Indira Nagar Tehsil RS Pura and Mohammad Sharif, son of Mohammad Mirza of Batehra.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Satwari Police Station and investigation started.
