JAMMU, Oct 23: Pacca Danga police under ‘Operation Kamdhenu’ foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 17 cattle and arresting three persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Pacca Danga Police Station laid a naka near Manda and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02AF-9187.
During checking, police team rescued 17 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested three persons.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Rafi and Liaqat Ali, son of Mohammad Bashir, both residents of District Reasi and Mohammad Younis, son of Noor Alam of Tehsil Vijaypur District Samba.
A case under FIR Number 158/18 under section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Pacca Danga Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Verinder Gupta foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, SP City Amritpal Singh and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
