JAMMU, Oct 5: Nagrota police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 18 cattle and arresting two persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK14C-3448.
During checking, police rescued 14 cattle from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Saddam Hussain, son of Abdul Rashid of Sudh Mahadev Tehsil Chenani District Udhampur and Fareed Ahmed, son of Mohammad Yousuf of Ramsoo District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 239/18 under section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
