JAMMU, Jan 28: Nagrota police foiled bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 10 cattle and arresting five smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted five vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 10 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested five smugglers.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Sharif, son of Alaf Din of Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu, Mohammad Fareed, son of Mohammad Shafi of Belicharana District Jammu, Mohammad Shakeel, son of Malook Hussain of Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu, Jabib Ahmed, son of Noor Allahi of Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu and Khalid Khan, son of Mohammad Bashir of Mansar District Samba.
Cases under FIR Numbers 33/2020, 34/2020, 35/2020, 36/2020 and 37/2020 under relevant Sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Police Station Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma.
