Evolve mechanism to ensure sense of justice to displaced KPs: KSD

JAMMU, Jan 28: Kashmir Samiti Delhi (KSD) has demanded short term and long term mechanism of offering sense of justice to the community which has suffered genocide in Kashmir. As a short term mechanism KSD team has urged upon Government for enhancement of cash relief and removing all discrepancies which are prevalent in relief disbursement mechanism to displaced Kashmiri Hindus living across India.
It further demanded re -opening of registration process for those displaced Kashmiri Hindus who could not register themselves due to various reasons, compensation to over aged youth and traders who have suffered immensely due to forced exodus from Kashmir, creation of job opportunities for unemployed youth of the displaced community.”
KSD while demanding the permanent return and rehabilitation of the displaced community has categorically stated that the process must encompass certain cardinals considering the community has suffered genocide. It demanded justice to the victims of genocide should form the basis of any return module, the return must ensure the life of dignity and honor in Kashmir considering the displacement in 1990 was a man made disaster, considering the historical factors it said the return must ensure the cardinal principle of non refoulement to ensure events like 1990 are not repeated.
KSD is committed to Separate Homeland with a Union Territory status which is the demand and general sentiment in community. KSD also apprised the Lt Governor of J&K G C Murmu of this demand during its recent meeting with him.
KSD which held a meeting at Delhi today said these demands were also highlighted by its top level delegation before the Lt Governor of J&K G C Murmu. According to statement, G C Murmu ensured that he will communicate the demands to the Union Government. He expressed empathy with the displaced community and assured the delegation that the issues being faced by the community are on top priority of his Government, the statement added.
KSD leaders apprised the meeting that a team led by Sumeer Chrungoo, vice presidents. Sanjay Koul, Vijay Bhat & Executive Member Rattan Lal Koul in Jammu met the Lt Governor and apprised him about the demands.
