JAMMU, Apr 18: Police in RS Pura area foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing two animals and seizing one vehicle used for the transportation of the animals.
During routine patrolling, a team of RS Pura Police Station intercepted an Auto load carrier (JK02BF-9370) for checking at Tanda, a police official said.
But the driver of the vehicle accelerated the speed and stopped the vehicle at an abandoned location to escape from the spot, he said.
On search of the vehicle, he said, two animals crammed inside it in a cruel manner were rescued.
Accordingly, the vehicle was seized and a case FIR number 71/2025 under section 223/11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation started, he added.
