UDHAMPUR, Feb 24: Ramnagar police today foiled a bid of bovine smuggling and arrested the accused.
Acting on information through reliable sources that one person namely Mohd Iqbal, son of Mahab Ali of Bari, Tehsil Ramnagar was carrying along with him two oxen by foot from Keya towards Srinagar, Ramnagar Police intercepted the accused, who failed to produce any permission of DC Udhampur regarding transportation of bovine in the district.
Police arrested the accused and rescued the bovine animals. A case FIR number 25/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in this regard at PS Ramnagar.
