Bovine smuggling bid foiled

SAMBA, Sept 23: District police Samba in second consecutive day foiled another attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 14 bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal today.
A police party of PS Ghagwal, while performing vehicle checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number, JK02AS-7981 which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley.
During checking of the vehicle, 14 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. The accused person identified as driver Wasim Ali, S/o Mohammad. Din of Tikri Mand, tehsil and district Udhampur has been arrested on spot.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to Gaushala at PS Ghagwal. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No.107/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation taken up.
