Bovine smuggling bid foiled

REASI, Feb 17: Reasi Police has foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued two animals besides arresting two accused.
During the intervening night of February 16-17, it was learnt that some persons were on way from Nagrota side towards Kashmir via Kanjli Dera Baba, in a vehicle loaded with bovine animals. A Police team led by SHO Reasi Romal Singh, swung into action and intercepted the vehicle, bearing registration number 5582/JK20.  During checking, two bovine animals were found brutally packed inside the vehicle. Police rescued the animals and arrested two accused persons, namely Mohd Rafiq of Hunder Arnas and Mohd Sharief of Budhan Mahore. However, their third associate Mukhtyar of Budhan Mahore managed to escape.
A case in this connection has been registered at Police Station Reasi for further investigation and action.
