Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 12 animals rescued

JAMMU, Nov 4: Akhnoor police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 12 bovine animals.
“During the intervening night, a naka was established at Hanuman Chowk, Daskal Morh and during checking at about 3.45 AM, one truck bearing registration number JK02T-7660 loaded with bovine animals was signalled to stop, but the driver of the truck did not stop”, a police official said.
He said that the police party on naka chased the truck up to Sapper Chowk, Sunaila Morh and rescued 12 bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers, who fled away from the spot leaving behind the vehicle.
In this connection, a case FIR No 230/2017 under Section 188 RPC 3 PCA was registered at concerned police station and investigation taken up.
