SAMBA, June 15: Police in Samba’s Ghagwal area today claimed they have successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt by arresting two smugglers and recovering 20 animals from their clutches.
On specific information, Police Post Rajpura under Police Station Ghagwal foiled a bovine smuggling bid near Lala Chak area by arresting two known bovine smugglers, a police official said.
Identified as Lal Deen of Manyari, Hiranagar, and Athar Din of Lachipora, Kathua, the accused were accordingly booked in case FIR 63/2025 under section 223 BNS, and 11 PCA Act registered at Police Station Ghagwal and further investigation started, he said.
The arrests were made by police party under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
