BOSE conducts NTS exam

JAMMU, Nov 24: The J&K Board of School Education conducted NTS examination, in which around 300 students appeared from all over the State.
Centres were established at District headquarters for the students to take this flagship examination.
The Chairman BOSE, Dr Nutan Kumar Resutra along with the senior officers of Board, visited Government High School Kothibag wherein he encouraged the idea of nourishing young talent of the State through such prestigious examination. He further emphasized on the awareness of Centrally sponsored schemes among the stakeholders.
The NTS examination is a national scholarship programme to tap the academic talent of the students. This is one of the most prestigious examinations,  conducted by the NCERT New Delhi, with the help of State Board.
At present, the examination is conducted for class 10th students and the meritorious students are given a monthly scholarship of Rs 500 upto the doctorial limit. The examination is conducted in two phases, the first stage in November  and the second in month of May.
Earlier, the scheme was limited only to union territory of Delhi but later it was extended to all State of India.
