JAMMU, Oct 27: Pakistan authorities are yet to ‘reply’ to the offer of Border Security Force (BSF) to hold flag meeting along the international border.
“Yesterday we had send an informal request to the Pakistan Rangers to hold flag meet in view of escalating tension on the border but yet no ‘reply’ has been received”, a senior BSF official told.
He said they were expecting positive response from other side to settle down the issue of border firing but the reply is still awaited.
“The border is calm for the past two days and there were no reports of heavy firing”, he said.
The BSF authorities, however, expressed hope that the flag meeting between senior officials will come out with positive outcome.
One BSF jawan was killed and seven civilians including kids were injured three days ago when Pakistan Rangers resorted to heavy firing in Ramgarh, Arnia, R S Pura and Pargwal Sectors.
About 71 families have been shifted to safer destinations in view of border tension.
