Border situation under control: ADG BSF

Srinagar, Mar 15: Additional Director General (DG) Border Security Forces (BSF) Western Command, P V Rama Sastry, today said that the situation on borders in Jammu and Kashmir is under control and they are impenetrable.
Speaking to reporters after a passing out parade of fresh recruits at the BSF’s Subsidiary Training Centres (STC) Kashmir here, Sastry said the BSF is alert and will be successful in foiling any misadventure against the country’s security.
He said border guarding is a very important role for any country’s internal security and the force has been playing this role very successfully.
“The BSF has been playing a very important role since 1965 and has been successful in meeting all the challenges,” he added.
The ADG said the BSF guards the borders to prevent the infiltration and if there is any attempt to infiltrate to this side, “we will take lawful action against the infiltrators”.
“In today’s situation also, the BSF is giving its contribution whether it is to stop the infiltration or take action against drones or in anti-tunnelling actions or in stopping smuggling, we have been performing very well in all these roles and have also been able to have a good relation with the border population,” he said.
In the meantime, 119 recruits joined the BSF as constables after attending the passing out parade and attestation ceremony.
The trainees hail from all over the country joined the BSF as Seema Prahari to take new challenges on borders.
The ADG BSF was the chief guest on the occasion who inspected the grand attestation parade of BSF recruit constables.
Addressing the recruits, ADG BSF whole heartedly appreciated the excellent display of self-confidence, skills and coordination which was the high point of the parade.
He applauded the recruits for choosing BSF as a career option and exhorted them to serve the nation with courage and enthusiasm.
He congratulated, Inspector General, Frontier Headquarter BSF Kashmir and the instructional teams for successful efforts in achieving the objectives of molding the tradesmen, as trained Seema Prahari, giving them self-confidence & turning them into disciplined Jawans.
He wished the Recruits with a bright future in their life and service ahead.
The chief guest awarded medals to recruits who performed exceptionally well in various indoor & outdoor training activities.
The parade was commanded by Ct/WC Deepak Kumar. Five trainees from the batch were adjudged best in different competitions and were presented with trophies.
