Not satisfied with the pace of construction of 72 projects connected with border roads in J&K and Arunachal, Defence Minister A.K. Antony has issued instructions for speeding up the job by Border Roads Organization. We are far behind China in the level of connectivity along our border with that country in the north. It is intriguing why these projects have not been brought to completion so far even when the Defence Minister has been repeatedly assuring that we are prepared to meet any threat from China. China has already built a network of excellent border roads close to our borders and we did not raise any objection. We hope this irritant and also other difficulties and bottlenecks in the task of completing the projects will be removed at the highest level and path cleared for BRO to do its job.
