SAMBA, Feb 16: Farmers of border area in Ghagwal today staged a demonstration in front of Tehsil Office Rajpura protesting against the move to deprive them from cultivating the State land which was under their control for over five decades.
The protest was organised by Border Welfare Committee led by its president Nanak Chand. The protesters also submitted a memorandum to DC Samba through tehsildar Rajpura. MLA Hiranagar also participated in the protest and he assured the farmers that he will take up their issue in the Assembly also.
