Bootleggers nabbed, liquor seized

POONCH, May 8: Carrying forward it’s drive against the menace of illicit trade of drugs and liquor, the Police today arrested two bootleggers from Sher-e- Kashmir Bridge naka and recovered approximately six litres of liquor from their possession.
Giving details of the incident, a police spokesman told reporters that there were inputs from the locals regarding selling of illicit liquor/hooch due to closure of wine shops and bar with respect to Covid-19.
The information was further developed and a vigil was kept over the activities of some suspicious persons over a period. Today, two persons namely Mukesh Kumar, son of Late Chuni Lal and Bhanu Sudan, son of Rajinder Kumar both hailing from Khaka Nawan got apprehended by Naka party and the above mentioned recovery has been made from their possession.
In this regard Case FIR No. 72/20 under Section 48(A) Excise Act and 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Poonch and investigation taken up.
The arrest as well as the recovery has been made by a team of Poonch Police Station headed by Insp Nishant Gupta, SHO under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Mudassir Hussain.
