POONCH, Jan 28: Intensifying its drive against the sale of illicit liquor in Surankote town, the police this evening arrested one person along with 101 quarters/ bottles of liquor.
The police identified the accused as Amit Maini, a Karyana shopkeeper, son of Gulshan Kumar, resident of Surankote. The police also recovered 101 quarter bottles of alcohol from his possession .
A Police party from Police Station Surankote headed by PSI Pankaj Kumar, working under the close supervision of Inspr Niaz Khatana, SHO during routine patrolling in main market Surankote made this recovery. The recovery included JK Special Whisky 47 bottles, Special Whisky 18 bottles, Special XXX Rum.. 19 bottles, Double Cross Rum ..17 bottles.
A case FIR No. 09/2022 U/S 48(F) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Surankote and investigation has been taken up.
