Bootlegger held by Katra police

JAMMU, Aug 7: Continuing its drive to curb the smuggling of liquor and drugs in holy town Katra, police today arrested a bootlegger along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Nomaen area of tehsil Katra in district Reasi.
According to SP Katra Kulbir Singh, on specific inputs, a team from Katra Police Station intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK20-5236 near Nomaen area of tehsil Katra.
During checking, police recovered 60 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger, who has been identified as Mohammad Iqbal alias Bittu, son of Abdul Samad, a resident of tehsil Mahore, district Reasi, SP said, adding that the motorcycle has been seized.
A case under FIR number 183/14 under Section 188 RPC and 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Katra Police Station and investigation started, SP stated.
