SAMBA, July 21: Intensifying its drive against the sale of illicit liquor, district Police Samba arrested a bootlegger and recovered 11 bottles of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Samba.
Acting on reliable information regarding the sale of illicit liquor at Karandi Samba, a police party of PS Samba rushed to the spot and arrested one person namely TarsemLal, S/o Tara Chand R/o Karandi, Samba who was running a chicken/ fish shop at Karandi beyond permitted time slot in the violation of prohibitory orders and was also selling illicit liquor to the general public at exorbitant rates to gain illegitimate profit.
During search, a total 11 bottles of JK special Whisky (01 bottle of 750 ml &10 bottles of 180 ml each) were recovered from the shop.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 188/2020 US 188 IPC, 48 (f) Excise Act has been registered at P/S Samba and further investigation started.
