JAMMU, May 6: Police today arrested a bootlegger and recovered 45 pouches of illicit liquor at Devipur area, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor police station.
A police spokesman said that, a police team from Akhnoor police station led by SHO Pardeep Sharma laid a naka at Devipur and intercepted a pedestrian namely Gurmeet Singh, son of Jiwan Singh of Badayala Chack.
During checking, police recovered 45 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger.
A case under FIR number 93/14 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Akhnoor and investigations started.
