UDHAMPUR, June 25: Police today arrested a bootlegger from Panchari and seized 14 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
According to a police spokesman, during naka checking at Kanth Gali (Panchari) a police party of police station Panchari intercepted one motorcycle bearing registration number JK14-5694, which was on its way from Udhampur to Panchari.
“During thorough search of the bike rider and his belongings, police recovered 14 bottles (each of 750 ml) of illicit liquor from his possession”, the spokesman said, adding, police has seized the liquor as well as bike and arrested the bike rider namely Salinder Singh son of Karnial Singh of Panchari.
In this connection, a case under Section 48 A Excise Act stands registered at police station Panchari and further investigation of the case is going on.
