Bookie arrested with Rs 69,900 cash

JAMMU, Nov 1: Domana police today arrested a bookie along with Rs 69900 cash, which is presumed to be put on betting in today’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 match.
As per police sources, a reliable information was received that Pawan Kumar, son of Sardari Lal of Gho Manhasa and Abhimanyu Takiya alias Chinku, son of Vinod Takiya of Shakti Nagar were indulging in betting on Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 matches along with other persons by using different mobile numbers.
Acting over the information, a team from Domana Police Station conducted raid and arrested Pawan Kumar from his shop at Gho Manhasa and recovered Rs 69900 cash, presumed to be put on betting on today’s IPL match.
A case under FIR Number 305/2020 under sections 420 and 120-B IPC and 3/4 Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and hunt has been launched to nab Abhimanyu Takiya and others persons involved in this illegal trade.
Police team led by SHO Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
