JAMMU, Apr 18: The book on Bawa Jitto and a Panchang were released by VHP State patron Dr Rama Kant Dubey at a simple but impressive function organized at Press Club here, today.
The book on Bawa Jitto was written by late Mahant Gosani Krishan Dutt Ji Maharaj of Jhri while the Panchang was composed by Vishal Shastri.
The function besides the intellectuals and leaders of various social and religious bodies was attended by Mahant Gosani Shri Vaishno Dutt Ji Maharaj, Gosani Sham Lal Ji and Gosani Parshotam Dutt Ji. Shakti Dutt Sharma was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Addressing the function Dr Rama Kant Dubey threw light on the life and history of Bawa Jitto.
He said Bawa Jitto was a revolutionary saint who laid down his life to seek justice for poor farmers and fought against the feudal lord system of that time.
He said by sacrificing his life for a cause of farming community who cultivated the land and were deprived of share in produce Bawa Jitto set an example of sacrifice and revolutionized the entire society.
He said by laying down his life for the cause of farmers Bawa Jitto set a unique example in the country.
