BHADERWAH, Jan 18: A book “Bhadarwah Qaida” has been released here today.
The Bhadarwahi Qaida has been authored by Rajinder Singh in which 6 new alphabets which are widely spoken in all the six dialects of Bhadarwahi language but could not be written were introduced for the first time by Bhadarwahi cultural society.
The book was launched by Tehsildar Bhadarwah Zeeshan Tahir.
The author of the book Rajinder Singh who is an educationist by profession urged the authorities to introduce Bhadarwahi language in school curriculum in Chenab region where majority of residents speak basic Bhadarwahi language and its 6 dialects including, Sirazi, Padri, Pogli, Pahari, Gaddi and Marmati.
“The new words introduced can be a game changer not only for the ancient Bhadarwahi language. We urge Director Education Jammu to introduce Bhadarwahi language in primary schools”, said Rajinder Singh, author of the book.
Adequate attention to be given to dialects and folk literature, apart from encouraging language publications, journals and children’s books in local languages. “We must accord a sense of pride to those who speak, write and communicate in these languages, he added.
Saying that language was a vehicle of intergenerational transmission of culture, scientific knowledge and a worldview, the chief guest Zeeshan Tahir said that language evolves with human evolution and gets nourished by constant use.
He called for measures to encourage scholars to do research using the primary sources and unearth new nuggets of knowledge. “We must keep on adding to the knowledge and illuminate our present and future”, he said.
“We must harness the power of technology to preserve and promote our languages and culture. We must have many more technological tools for communication in local languages to serve the needs of all our people speaking different languages”, Zeeshan stressed.
Prominent among those who were present during the book launch include Jaswant Singh Charak, Prof Sanjay Kumar, KK Bhardwaj and Bal Krishan Manhas.
