JAMMU, July 23: A bomb hoax outside the office of DIG Doda-Ramban range Ashkoor Wani at Batote in Ramban district on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway alerted security agencies till it turned out to be a hoax.
Mr Wani told the Excelsior that a transistor was found near his office this afternoon after which police became alert and cordoned off the area. Traffic was stopped on the Highway for few minutes.
A Bomb Disposal Squad reached the spot and found that it was an old transistor, which had been abandoned by a civilian.
“There was no bomb. It was only an old radio transistor,’’ Mr Wani said, adding that traffic was immediately restored on the highway.
