Bollywood’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna remembered on his birth anniversary

KOLKATA: Legendary Bollywood’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna would have celebrated his 76th birthday today if he had been alive.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today remembered the iconic actor on his birth anniversary.

Fondly remembering Rajesh Khanna, superstar of the 1970s, on his birth anniversary. He will be immortal in our hearts for the roles he essayed with ease on the silver screen,” Ms Banerjee posted on her social networking page.

The social media is flooded with wishes for the first superstar of Tinsel town, Rajesh Khanna.

Bollywood actress turned interior designer Twinkle Khanna paid tribute to her father and the 1960s Bollywood heartthrob Rajesh Khanna on his birth anniversary.

Twinkle shared a throwback picture of her father waving to his fans. She captioned it, “As a toddler, I was convinced that all the truckloads of flowers that would arrive for his birthday were actually for me… #nowandforever.”

Wishing wife Twinkle on her birthday while also remembering his late father-in-law, actor Akshay Kumar also shared a picture of the father-daughter duo. He captioned it, “While growing up I’d heard fascinating tales of his superstardom, never imagining one day I’ll marry his fascinating daughter…thank you for giving me this precious one.
